An independent, owner-operated electrical contractor headquartered in Lansing, Michigan, working across the state since 2009.
Founded on a simple complaint
In 2009, Linda Miller was an estimator for a large regional contractor and kept hearing the same frustration from clients: nobody explained the scope, nobody called back, and nobody handed over documentation at the end.
She started Praman Power with one van, one apprentice and a rule that every proposal would be itemized. The first year was mostly panel changes and lighting repairs for small businesses around Lansing. The second year brought a food plant that needed a distribution upgrade nobody else wanted to schedule around production, and that job effectively defined the company: complex power work executed inside somebody else's operating window.
Sixteen years later the shop on Folsom Street runs field crews, a service desk and an in-house estimating team. The rule about itemized proposals has not changed.
Four commitments we actually keep
Safety first, always
NFPA 70E training, documented lockout/tagout, arc-rated PPE and a daily job hazard analysis on every site. Our experience modification rate has stayed below industry average since 2014.
Written before wired
Scope, exclusions, lead times, permit responsibility and payment terms go in the proposal. Change orders are priced and approved before the work happens, not after.
Employees, not brokers
Our electricians are on our payroll. Where a specialty trade is required — concrete cutting, crane work, fire alarm certification — we name the partner in the proposal.
Documentation on handover
You receive as-built drawings, panel schedules, torque and test records, warranty terms and equipment manuals. Your insurer and your auditor will ask for these one day.
Small enough to know your building
Praman Power runs lean on purpose. Field crews are led by journeyman foremen who stay with a client account rather than rotating between jobs, so the person troubleshooting your panel at 6am has probably worked in that room before.

Apprentices train through a registered Michigan program and work under direct journeyman supervision.

We are happy to provide current certificates of insurance, license documentation and references on request — before you sign anything.
Licensing
Licensed electrical contractor operating under the Michigan Electrical Administrative Act, with journeyman and master licenses held by supervising staff. Permits are pulled by us unless your proposal states otherwise.
Insurance
General liability, commercial auto and workers' compensation coverage in force. Certificates naming your entity as additional insured are issued on request within one business day.
Codes & standards
Installations follow the National Electrical Code as adopted in Michigan, NFPA 70E for electrical safety, NFPA 110 for emergency power systems and NETA guidance for acceptance testing.
Rooted in mid-Michigan
We hire locally, we buy from local distributors when the lead time allows, and we donate labor twice a year to a nonprofit facility in the Lansing area — usually lighting or panel work that a small budget cannot absorb.
